Scale-O was founded in 2022 to give Indian homes a salt-free way to deal with hard water. We design compact softeners for overhead tanks so houses, villas and bungalows can reduce scaling without wasting salt, water or electricity.
Every product is built to keep minerals in the water, protect fittings and appliances, and stay simple to install. From Mini to Centi, the same idea holds: treat water at the tank, then use it as usual through the home.
Our founder
Mr. Prasham Mehta
Prasham Mehta is the founder of Scale-O. He is an environmental engineer with more than 10 years in water treatment, and he started Scale-O to solve hard-water scaling in a way that is easier on homes and the environment.
After graduating from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad in 2014, he worked with Passavant Energy on a water-treatment project for Ford Motors India in Sanand, Gujarat. He later moved through marketing, proposals and sales, and became Business Development Director at Advent Envirocare Technology Pvt. Ltd.
That mix of engineering, project work and commercial experience led to Scale-O: a salt-free softener that sits in the overhead tank and does not need salt, electricity or regular servicing.
Our story
Idea and eureka moments
A few years after moving into a new house, the family started seeing new taps, showers and fixtures choke with scale, and white stains on utensils. Water heaters and washing machines followed. A salt-based softener was installed, but the problems did not go away.
During the Covid lockdown, with no technician available, that softener stopped working. After video calls with a plumber just to get water moving again, it was clear a better answer was needed: effective, convenient, and without wasting salt or water.
Months of R&D on softening agents, and tests on water samples across the city, produced a prototype that could treat water at the overhead tank with no complex plumbing. After longer home trials, Scale-O launched. That is how Scale-O was born.
